“SRS” stands for Supplemental Restraint System. The SRS system is designed to supplement your vehicle’s seatbelts as an additional method of safety. The year and make of the vehicle you own can alter how complex this safety system is. Common vehicles manufactured before 2014 have about 6 airbags while the ones manufactured after 2014 may have ten or more air bags. Keeping all of these in good working condition can keep you safe in an accident.
If the SRS or Airbag light illuminates on your dash, it means there’s an issue with the vehicle’s airbag system. It also means that the airbags may not deploy properly, or at all, if you’re in an accident. An SRS warning light appears when any components of the restraint system are not working properly.
